Jennifer Hawkins Helps Toyota Clear The Air

We are excited to announce that Toyota Ambassador Jennifer Hawkins is back to help plant some trees and spread Toyota’s NTD message. In the weeks leading up to Tree Day Jennifer will be the ‘face’ of a national Toyota TV campaign on Channel 7.

As in 2006 the campaign will include a competition where one lucky viewer can win $10,000 for their nominated environmental community project PLUS $10,000 for themselves! To enter the competition they will learn all about Toyota’s many other environmental initiatives.

You will see Jen on Channel 7’s The Great Outdoors, Sunrise, Better Homes & Gardens and online at www.yahoo7.com.au/treeday.

Why do we need to plant out Bundamba Creek?

Planting out the Bundamba Creek site as part of the Toyota National Tree Day program with a range of native trees, shrubs, and grasses will provide stability to Bundamba Creek and minimise erosion in times of flooding.

Planting out the Bundamba Creek site using native trees, shrubs and grasses will provide and increase the native fauna habitat within the local area.

Toyota National Tree Day 2007 has the ability to develop community ownership with local businesses, TAFE, schools and community groups.

Get involved!

Toyota and Planet Ark present National Tree Day 2007. National Tree day will be held on Sunday 29th of July, and schools will be celebrating on Friday 27th of July.

On National Tree Day, the Ipswich community is encouraged to plant native trees and shrubs. Last year on National Tree Day over 1.35 million native trees were planted at over 3500 sites across Australia.

National Tree Day has grown since its creation in 2000, turning into one of Australia's foremost community participation events, supported largely by Toyota Dealers across the nation.

The aim: We plan to plant at least 300 trees to rejuvinate Brisbane Creek as per the map link. A sausage sizzle will be there for the volunteers too.
