Treeday Activities

Thank you TAFE

Before the days activities Kayleen Harth the Director of Bremer TAFE and Arthur Ryan, head of school come and visit.  We want to thank them for TAFE’s support of this activity.

Start of the day

This was the start of the day!  In the first photo is James Sturges (General Manager, Llewellyn Toyota) and Arthur Ryan - Head of School for Bremer TAFE are with the staff and students from Bundamba State School, ready to prepare the ground for the days planting.  In the second photo the staff and students from the local TAFE and junior school are ready to start the days activities

Water saving

The students are being shown how the water saving treatments are used to ensure the plants have a fighting chance with the current water restrictions

Oh what a feeling!

The secondary students are getting ready to start the main planting program, they warm up by doing a “Oh What a Feeling, Toyota” dance! Then works commences, infront of the Toyota Prius, a Hybrid powered vehicle.

Pink is the new green

The Day is Almost Over

Bore water is provided by Llewellyn Toyota to ensure the water restrictions are not breached by the Treeday planting.

It's all about the science

Once the horticultural students have finished the planting, the senior Chemistry and Physics students come for a demonistration of the leading edge technology found in the Toyota Prius.

Different type of Hybrid

The TAFE instructior for the day, obviously feels more comfortable with the Hybrids in the Nursery

Everyone is "Aware"

We want to thank Planet Ark for their support by providing ECO Sensitive washing powder as prizes to the Urban bushland participants.  This young boy and his day hold the Planet Ark product.

Snake anyone?

The environment is important to everyone, and our ranger shows the participants a range of creatures that all share this area we all call home.

Everyone looks good with a frog

Local councilors Cr Heather Morrow and Cr Trevor Nardi take the time to visit the Prius and the frog during the day

After the session, the not so shy put their hands up for a “Oh what a feeling” Toyota shoot.

Urban Bushland Project

Trees were also presented at the Urban bushland project, the oraganiser of the event Dawn Court stands next to the Pruis.  Thanks Dawn for a great day!

Sunday. the last day - Park to Park Fun Run

Llewellyn Toyota sponsored Treeday team to compete in the Fun Run. Those who could not run got a Tat!

The end

After three days of Planting, demonstrating and running, the Toyota tree days comes to an end.
